RE: The Kathy Tugaw 5th Annual Walk

Dear Family, Friends and Supporters,

Seven years ago we all came together to help someone we loved so dearly, our friend Kathy Glodis-Tugaw.  One group of friends, mothers at St. Mathias, brought dinner every night, some friends sent gift certificates for restaurants in the area, another group paid for a maid to come to the house to clean and the rest of us, me, my mother, and sister Kathy’s Dad and cousin Rob and sister-in-law Ann Marie all took her for her treatments and I went in on weekends to do errands food shopping etc.  We called it “Girls Night"

Kathy fought a very hard two year battle with breast cancer which she lost on September 30, 2004.

Out of this came the Foundation, not many women were as lucky as Kathy to have the resources to help them while fighting breast cancer.

September of 2005 we were incorporated and therefore this is our Fifth Year Anniversary walk as well .  Every year for the past five years, we have all come together again to walk in Kathy’s memory and to also make money to help women in need of financial help whether it be transportation, co-pays for doctor bills, etc.  Each woman is different.

The economy is hard right now and if it is hard for us you can imagine how hard it is for these women who have nothing or anyone to help.  I look forward to seeing you all on September 26, 2009 in Juniper Valley Park @ 10:00 a.m. to celebrate Kathy’s life and see all of the people who have helped and supported us through these past five years as they walk five miles around the park talking, laughing and enjoying the day knowing Kathy is watching from above smiling.

A great day for everyone.

Thank you again in advance for all you do.

Sincerely,

Donna Hall

Our Fourth Annual Breast Cancer Walk in Juniper Valley Park 0n 9/27/08

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed seeing all of you at the walk.  It was very important to not have to cancel and God and mother nature came through for all of us.

We started this walk and this foundation four years ago after Kathy passed so all of us could come together every year in her honor/memory see each other, give hugs, and in addition make money for women who didn’t have (don’t have) the loving support that Kathy did.

No matter what we do at the walk we all do it together, from the time I pick up JJ till we get to the park and Anthony and the  all of the boys  and girls help to unpack the various trucks and cars--to setting up the tables, putting things out, Vita with the rolls  (Fantastic) and of course the creamcheese and butter that go along with it, Rose, Iris  and Sarah with tee-shirts or water in bins, Mom getting her paper work together  and this year Debbie’s tents....Then when it’s over  the women put it all together and My husband,Anthony and the boys pack up the cars and trucks. .  We ALL HELP........We do this every year in Kathy’s memory.

One of JJ friends came up to me and asked me if I organized the whole thing and as I said yes well  he put his hand out to shake my hand.  How profound that a youngster (don’t think he thinks so) see’s how great something is and not UNCool just because it’s with adults..

Starting the day I get the permit  to making phone calls, and  e-mails, AnnMarie is up and running around to different stores, so is  my Mom  so as I said it is a joint effort by all of us who loved Kathy.  We all come out and show our love in different ways whether it’s walking or handing out ponchos, or buttering rolls .

Especially this year I want to "Thank You " all for coming out on a foggy, rainy day that turned into a good time had by all.

Love you all!!!!

Donna xoxo
