WE ARE A 501 (c) 3 APPROVED NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION

My best friend Kathy suffered from breast cancer for almost two years   she was diagnosed at the age of 39 and then lost her battle two years later at the age of 41.  She left a husband and 13 yr old son.

It was because of all of us coming together to help her that we realized how lucky she was and we are to have that kind of support.  One group of friends gave money for a cleaning lady, the friends from her son’s school made dinner everynight, People gave gift certificates for meals out, and for her transportation needs her father, my sister,  my mother , her sister in law, and her cousin and I all took her to her doctors apt’s and for her testing.  I would go in on weekends and run errands, food shopping and just to keep her company and let her husband get out for a little while we called it "Girls Night".    Right then and there I started looking into starting a foundation to help people who were not as lucky, whose fight was harder because of their finances or lack of family support..

This foundation was started to help people with their battle while fighting Cancer. We will look at each case individually and see what is needed.  Living with Cancer is not an easy thing.  It is very expensive, and it takes it’s toll on everyone involved.  This foundation will help people who are battling breast cancer with some of their needs. .  Some families are not as fortunate in that they lack the needed support and resources and are battling this disease alone.  These are the people the foundation will help.

So  far we have helped several women, each one having different needs.  Two  women could not afford to pay for their homcare so we gave them 1,000 each, another women needed a medical test but had no Insurance so we payed for the test.   Another women had different needs, she has cancer that has metatasized and she  needed medical bills paid and also lost her computer ,so one our our supporters bought her a new computer  along with that a digital camera while we paid her bills and sent her money for gas and food..  We will be helping her on an ongoing basis.  We are also helping a women who needs help with her co-pays while on chemo.  Everyone is different.  We have also just taken on another women from Northshore Hospital in Manhasset who needs transportation for 6-8 weeks for her radiation treatments.

We are all about helping people and making things a little easier for them.  They have enough to fight for already

Our Motto is:  Cancer is Tough, Letting us Help....... That’s EASY.

We are a non-profit  organization and we  rely on the genorosity of others, we could not do it without your donations and your support.

Support site’s also, one Called Friends in Touch Care Team @ groupsmsn.com for the psychological support that some need, also a site called God’s Love we Deliver a non profit foundation that delivers meals to people within a certain income level.

We would love for you to come up with ideas to help us with our fundraising.  There are a number of things that you and your friends can do to help us with our Fundraising.

If your company will do a Kathy Tugaw Jeans Day and  have all donations  sent to us .  Kathy’s old Law firm  Lester, Schwab, Katz & Dwyer do that for us now. Or bake sales, car washes , bowling parties whatever way you can come up with.

We hope to raise money through Fundraisers, Donations, , and applying for grants from other Foundations.  We have already had our first walk "The Kathy Tugaw Breast Cancer Walk" in Forest Park Queens, NY on October 1, 2005 Kathy’s one year anniversary weekend.  It was a huge success for our first fundraiser.  We plan on doing it at least once a year.
